Skill Builder

Katie, a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern at AIM Counseling, Consulting,
and Wellness, is in the final semester of her Master’s program at Nova Southeastern
University. She is deeply passionate about mindfulness and believes in a holistic
approach to mental health treatment, viewing individuals as a whole. Katie
integrates this philosophy into her practice, recognizing that mental health is
closely linked to emotional, physical, and spiritual factors. She is dedicated to
empowering clients to explore their strengths, enhance self-awareness, and
navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience.

She is committed to understanding the cultural backgrounds of her clients and
tailoring treatments accordingly.

As a trained and certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
(EMDR) practitioner, Katie specializes in helping individuals recover from trauma
and psychological distress. She guides clients through the structured phases of this
evidence-based therapy to help process and transform painful memories. With a
blend of empathy and clinical training, Katie aims to empower clients to integrate
their difficult experiences and foster positive change. She is committed to
providing compassionate, personalized support, whether addressing PTSD, anxiety,
or other challenges.

In addition to EMDR, Katie incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-
Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy into her practice, tailoring her
approach to meet each client’s unique needs.
