I’m Michelle Ramsey, a mental health counselor and Registered Intern in the state of Florida. I work with adults navigating major life transitions, including divorce, aging, identity shifts, career changes, and retirement. These seasons often come with anxiety, grief, or a persistent feeling of being stuck. My goal is to help clients move from overwhelm and self-doubt toward clarity, emotional stability, and reconnection with their inner sense of direction.
In session, I use a person-centered and collaborative approach. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices to support clients in regulating emotions, understanding internal responses to stress, and building practical tools for daily life. Whether we are working through anxiety, navigating relationship dynamics, or clarifying values, our work is grounded in reflection, self-trust, and sustainable change.
Many of my clients appear to be managing well on the outside but feel disconnected or uncertain inside. I help them explore that gap with curiosity and compassion. One of the most meaningful shifts I see in therapy is when a client can say, “Here’s how I show up when I’m under stress.” That kind of insight becomes a turning point in how we relate to ourselves and others.
I am currently pursuing additional training in somatic therapy and functional health, as well as specialized education to better support adults with ADHD. These tools allow me to work not just with thoughts and emotions, but also with how stress and dysregulation show up in the body. This whole-person approach helps clients build a deeper sense of internal safety and connection.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than 20 years managing private healthcare practices. That experience taught me how to support people through high-pressure situations with steadiness and empathy. Today, I bring both clinical training and life experience into each session. I aim to hold a clear, grounded, and judgment-free space.
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida State University. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the Florida Mental Health Counseling Association. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions and am committed to creating a space that aligns with your values and needs.
You don’t have to navigate this season alone. I would be honored to support you.
